Will Vogt
Will Vogt is the principal and legal practice director of Vogt Legal, which has a particular expertise and emphasis in building and construction disputes.
Will’s clients include small to medium sized builders, subcontractors, tradesmen, strata companies and owners’ corporations, principals and homeowners.
Will is a panel solicitor with the Housing Industry Association and regularly receives referrals from other professional and regulatory bodies, such as, the Master Builders Association.
When advising in relation to building and construction disputes, Will draws upon his own knowledge and experience drawn from his time in the United Arab Emirates as the proprietor of his own construction services business prior to commencing his specialist building and construction practice in 2007.
Drawing on his excess of 20-years of experience in building and construction disputes and general litigation matters, Will advises clients at all stages of the life of their construction projects, including, advising on construction contracts and identification of contractual risk, designing and implementing strategies and practical, cost-effective solutions to avoid or mitigate risk.
Will regularly advises clients on all aspects of construction disputes, including, defective workmanship claims, contractual construction and interpretation, payment disputes, variation disputes and disputes involving the entitlement to claim extensions of time under the relevant construction contracts, disputes involving the termination of construction contracts.
Will has represented a range of clients, including acting as counsel, in contested hearings, interlocutory applications, mediations and pre-trial conferences trial and final hearings in the Supreme and District Court, Magistrates Court, the State Administrative Tribunal, domestic arbitrations and adjudications under the Former Provisions (Construction Contracts) Act 2004 (WA) and the Building and Construction Industry (Security of Payment) Act 2021 (WA).
